Trauma-Informed Care for Meaningful Change
My Approach:
I’m trained in EMDR and informed in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which allows me to help you navigate trauma and life’s challenges. EMDR targets specific traumatic memories, while IFS explores your internal dynamics and “parts” of yourself. Using both together, along with behavioral strategies, helps you manage symptoms, regulate emotions, and feel more in control of your healing journey.
I also incorporate creative approaches like art and sandtray therapy. These methods provide alternative ways to express yourself, explore your inner world, and access insights that may be hard to put into words, making them especially helpful for those processing trauma or difficulty with verbal expression.
I am a LGBTQIA+ affirming counselor dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and empathetic space for all. I also recognize how systems of oppression impact trauma, stress, and mental health, and I am committed to supporting clients in navigating these challenges with a lens of cultural humility and social justice.
More About Me:
In my spare time, I love exploring the outdoors with my husband and our two scruffy dogs, indulging in delicious food, and adding to my ever-growing reading list. These activities bring me joy and help me stay grounded, enriching both my personal and professional life.
